Pickleball Intermediate One

This is Biddulph u3a’s friendly group of  experienced pickleball players who enjoy competition. The group, started by Barbara is now being run by Carole. Thank you Barbara for getting this group going, best wishes to Carole.

If you are an experienced, competitive pickleball player who knows the rules and doesn’t mind playing with some powerful hitters, then bring your paddle and come along to Biddulph Leisure Centre on a Monday from 12noon to 2pm.

Following on from the success of our first Intermediate Pickleball Group we now have another one which meets on Wednesday afternoons - see separate listing.

You can come to either or both if you are an experienced player.

Biddulph u3a  also runs a third Pickleball Group for ALL levels on Thursday afternoon 2pm - 3pm. 

Beginners welcome at Pickleball All Levels.

Members of our Intermediate Pickleball Group played their inaugural match recently. The venue was very different from our usual venue as we were enjoying playing in the open air with some sunshine, beside the swaying branches of mature trees. Our opponents were Macclesfield Pickleball Club who did have the home advantage of coping with the outdoor conditions, primarily the wind! The wind did cause some frustration but more importantly lots of smiles. There were  fast, exciting net rallies including dinks.
Biddulph didn’t manage to beat the experienced outdoor players but we all had a very enjoyable afternoon. The atmosphere, both during the match and when enjoying the after match cuppas and nibbles, was lovely and friendly.
