Dear Visitor,
A very warm welcome to Biddulph u3a! We are delighted that you are considering joining our friendly, progressive, and sociable organisation.
You may like to know that the u3a is an international, voluntary organisation run entirely by and for people who are no longer in or seeking full-time work.
There are no age limits, and our main goal is to come together to learn new things, share skills, laugh, and make lasting friendships along the way.
As a member, you become eligible for all the benefits of our large network. To help you get started, here is a quick guide on how to make the most of being a member:
Explore Our Interest Groups: We have a wide range of activities led by our enthusiastic volunteers, spanning everything from arts, crafts, and music to sports and games. You can view the full list of available options on the Biddulph u3a Groups Page.
Joining a Group: Once you find a group or groups you wish to join, simply contact the designated group leader whose details can be found at the top of each individual group page. They will answer your questions and invite you along to one of their sessions.
Taster Sessions: We always recommend attending a "taster session" for one or two meetings to see if a particular group is a good fit for you. This is free of charge.
Fees and Sessions: Your annual membership fee is £10.00. Beyond this, with a few exceptions, each individual group session you attend costs just £2.00.
When you are ready to join us, just follow the instructions on our Membership Page and your application will be processed by our Membership Secretary as soon as possible.
Where we meet
Lund House on Lawton Street is our base. It is our HQ, where many of our groups meet.
Biddulph Valley Leisure Centre hosts our Badminton, Pickleball, Bowling, Table Tennis and Keep Fit Groups
The Town Hall is where our Sequence Dancing Group meets on a weekly basis. We also hold many of our events here.
Our Book Group meets at the Library.
Thank you for bringing your own unique experiences and personality to Biddulph u3a. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming sessions. Enjoy yourself.
