Oh What a Lovely Evening!
A huge well done and thank you to Suzanne and her Biddulph u3a Acoustic Guitar Group.
Last Tuesday evening they entertained members and non-members in Lund House.
The talented musicians and singers sounded great with beautiful harmonies, solos, audience participation and lots of smiles. Popular songs from a range of genres were performed, including Things, Let it be me, Scarborough Fair, The Boxer to name just a few. All were warmly received by the appreciative audience.
The feedback has been wonderful!
David Boothroyd, this group’s previous leader, who left the group to write and perform his own music, made a guest appearance and performed two original songs, "Man of the North Country, and a very recent composition, "Little Scraps of Paper" .
If you missed the Acoustic Guitar Group this time, their next performance will be at Biddulph u3a’s Picnic in the Park on Monday 22nd June at Biddulph Grange Country Park from 2 - 4pm.

U3a Wheelers.
A new social cycling group for Biddulph u3a.
We are creating a cycling group for our u3a, open to current and new members, beginning in June. There is a warm welcome waiting for you and your bike, electric or otherwise, and you don't have to be experienced to join in, just pump up the tyres and come along. We envisage meeting weekly, going for a ride for a couple of hours with a stop for refreshments and a chat somewhere along the way.
To get the group started, the first meeting will be at Lund House, Lawton Street, on Monday 8th June at 10am. We will have the kettle on and there will be a chance to meet everyone, talk about how the group could work, what days etc with the intention of the first ride during the following week.
If you would like to be part of this exciting group, please come along, bring a friend if you wish and it will be lovely to see you there.

Biddulph u3a Creative Writing Group
Have you ever had a secret yearning to write? To write in any style: romantic, adventurous, biographical? Or perhaps you are a budding poet. Why not give this new Creative Writing Class a whirl? You may be able to unleash an unsuspected talent!
The first meeting will be at 10am on Tuesday 9th June in Lund House, Lawton Street, Biddulph ST8 6EX and it would be wonderful to meet you there. During the session you will be able to hear how the course will work and you can ask questions about what is in store. There will also be the chance to have a cuppa and a biscuit! What's not to like?
